Cohort Three Students

Louisa Wambui Waithaka

Louisa Wambui Waithaka is twenty-two years old. She is the second born in a family of four children. She sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination in Muthaiga Primary School, where she managed to get 395 out of 500 marks. She then joined Moi Girls’ Nairobi where she got an A minus in her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination. She joined Egerton University in 2016 to pursue Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology. The course is offered at the department of Dairy, Food Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture. She is much grateful to RUFORUM through the TAGDev Program for coming to her rescue at the time of need through tuition fee support. She hopes to complete her undergraduate studies in May 2020 and enroll for a Master’s degree in Food Biotechnology. Her hobbies include watching educative documentaries, swimming, reading novels, cycling, listening to music and spending time with my siblings and friends. She also open to diverse knowledge gain. She hopes to be a renowned food scientist so that she can contribute to the reduction of cases of food malnutrition and increase food security and hopefully make a difference that will positively impact the world’s population
