Cohort Three Students

Joram Owino Amol

Joram Owino Amol is a third-year student at Egerton University, Njoro campus, pursuing Bachelor of Agricultural Education and Extension offered at the Faculty of Education and Community Studies. During long vacation he engages in part time teaching at local schools around his village. He uses this opportunity to encourage and empower the students to develop grit and resilience in their academics and their lives at large. He focusses on imparting knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, agricultural principles and best practises, and talent development through involvement in sport activities.

This has made him to start and run a poultry keeping project which has put him as a role model to these students and many youths around his home. The university experience has equipped him with several skills. The contents of the course work have adequately provided him with knowledge of agriculture which he is putting into practice. He really appreciates the tuition fee support from RUFORUM through TAGDev program at Egerton University since it has contributed a lot to the academic progress this far. He is looking forward to graduate with a first-class honour. Afterwards, he aspires to enrol for his post graduate studies in Agricultural Extension
