Cohort Three Students

Collins Ouma Onyango was born on May 27, 1999 in Kisumu County. He is fourth in a family of eight. He attended Shauriyako Nursery School in Kisumu East. Thereafter, in 2005 he joined Lake Primary School in Kisumu Central where he was an all-round outstanding pupil and actively participated in co-curricular activities like sports; handball and football, music festivals and drama. Being in a public school empowered him academically with high moral standards. After primary, he was honored to join Onjiko High School in 2013. He was a member of the student council as an assistant departmental captain. Later in 2014, students elected him as departmental captain. Being a student leader helped him grow his integrity and personality and completed high school with a remarkable leadership qualities and academic performance. Currently, he is a student at Egerton University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in the Faculty of Agriculture. He is determined in his line of profession with the aim to improve livelihoods of Kenyan citizens, not only by educating and advising farmers but also through creation of employment opportunities in the country. He thanks TAGDev Program at Egerton University for supporting his dreams through tuition fee support. Some of his strengths include being dedicated, self-motivated, hard worker and organized. He is determined to be Animal scientists and pursue a Master’s in Animal breeding. With this line of profession, he would be able to work on projects to help improve farming in Kenya and other parts of the world hence boost food security
