Senior Research Fellow at University of Pretoria

Dr Lindiwe Majele Sibanda is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship at the University of Pretoria, and the former Vice-President for Country Support, Policy, and Delivery at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Prior to joining AGRA, Dr Sibanda was the CEO and Head of Mission for the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN). She has 25 years of trans-disciplinary experience in agriculture and rural development, public and private sector reforms and management. Sibanda has also served in a variety of roles with agricultural institutions critical to development, including as board chair at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI); trustee for three international Agricultural Research Centers, and is currently a Board member for the World Vegetable Centre and co-Chair of the Global Alliance for Climate Smart Agriculture (GACSA). 

She recently relocated to Zimbabwe where she now serves as a member of the Zimbabwe Government Presidential Advisory Council, member of the the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Board of Governors and deputy Chair of Council for the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). She has received numerous awards for her contributions towards agriculture and food security, including the Yara-Africa Prize. She holds a Masters and PhD in Agriculture from the University of Reading, UK; and A BSc.degree in Agriculture from the University of Alexandria Egypt.
