The ISCED Open University (UnISCED) is a private higher education institution located in Mozambique [[1], based in Beira, province of Sofala, exclusively dedicated to open education and distance learning.

The Zambezi University ( UniZambeze ) is a legal person governed by public law, with legal personality and enjoys scientific, pedagogical and administrative autonomy. UniZambeze was created by Decree No. 77/2007, of December 18, and began its teaching activities on March 16, 2009 offering to the market 16 courses in 6 colleges.

Universidade Púnguè is a Mozambican Public University, multicampus, based in the city of Manica. The University emerged from the separation of the Manica and Tete hubs from the Pedagogical University amid the reform in Mozambican Higher Education that took place in 2019. Its primary area of activity is in the provinces of Manica and Tete. The name of the university, as well as most Public Higher Education Institutions in the country, refers to a river, in this case the Púnguè River.

Licungo University, headquartered in the city of Quelimane, is a legal person governed by public law with legal personality and enjoys statutory and regulatory, scientific, pedagogical, administrative, financial, patrimonial and disciplinary autonomy. 

The Eduardo Mondlane University is the oldest and largest university in Mozambique. The UEM is a secular public university, unaffiliated with any religion, and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, or religion. The university is located in Maputo and has about 40,000 students enrolled

The University of Mauritius is the national university of Mauritius. It is the oldest and largest university in the country in terms of student enrollment and the curriculum offered. The public university's main campus is located at R??duit, Moka

The University of Malawi - the mother university in Malawi - was founded in 1964. Teaching started on 29th September 1965 at the newly established campus which used to be an Asian Secondary School in Blantyre. Only 90 students were enrolled.

The University of Livingstonia is a private owned institution by the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. It started in 2003 in fulfilment of Rev. Dr Robert Laws??? dream to establish an institution of higher learning. It is started at the place where Dr Laws founded the Overtoun Institute, which was known at the time as the ???Greatest Achievement??? in Central Africa, specifically in relation to the offering of quality education and other social services.

Nkhoma University was registered by Malawi Government in November, 2011. It was operationalized in June, 2013; officially launched in August, 2015; and registered by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in 2015. The University was accredited by NCHE in November, 2016.
