The students from Egerton University

Joram Owino Amol

Joram Owino Amol is a third-year student at Egerton University, Njoro campus, pursuing Bachelor of Agricultural Education and Extension offered at the Faculty of Education and Community Studies. During long vacation he engages in part time teaching at local schools around his village. He uses this opportunity to encourage and empower the students to develop grit and resilience in their academics and their lives at large. He focusses on imparting knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, agricultural principles and best practises, and talent development through involvement in sport activities.

John Simba Musyoka

John Simba Musyoka is a third-year student at Egerton University. Earlier, he attended Mwatuni primary school in the year 2004 and completed in 2012. He later joined St.Thomas Aquinas Kalawa Boys for his secondary education in the year 2013 and completed in the year 2016. He joined Egerton University in 2017 to pursue Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Enterprise and Management course. He is the fifth born in a family of ten whereby he was raised by his single mother. Raising fee for his higher education has always challenged him but well-wishers including RUFORUM through TAGDev program cannot go unacknowledged for the great support accorded to settle the fee arrears.

John Otieno Ochieng

John Otieno Ochieng was born on 18th March 1997, at Shauri Yako Estate, Homa Bay County in Kenya. He is the third born in a family of five siblings. He is a third-year student at Egerton University pursuing Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. He is a disciplined, hard-working and determined student. He aspires to be a great environmental activist so as to help curb the effect of climate change that are affecting agriculture and development. Many thanks to TAGDev Program and all the well-wishers for supporting his studies

Gideon Simiyu Muchele

Gideon Simiyu Muchele was born on 26th November 1998 in Bungoma County being the 3rd born in a family of seven children. He joined Netima R.C Primary School in 2003 and completed in 2012 having excelled well in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E) examination. In 2013, he joined Khasoko Boys High School and completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) examination in the year 2016. During his time in School, Mr. Muchele showed impressive academic and co-curricular efforts as well as high level of discipline.  He participated actively in drama and choir festivals up to the national levels.

Felistas Nyakabi Kwanga

Felistas Nyakabi Kwanga is a fourth-year student at Egerton University Njoro. She is pursuing Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Enterprise and Management in the Faculty of Environment and Resources Development. She joined Nanyuki Garrison Primary School in the year 2005 for her primary school education and finished in the year 2011 with a mean grade of B-(293 marks) in K.C.P.E. In the year 2012 she joined St. Francis Girls’ Secondary School for her secondary school education where she served as a Home Science captain. She completed high school education in the year 2015 with a mean grade of a B. She later joined Egerton University Njoro for undergraduate studies in the year 2016.
