Welcome to the Database for Providers of Capacity Development Services in Agriculture.

The database is developed and managed by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Development in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the Research Into Use Programme (RIU)

It is a regional listing of individuals and organizations providing Capacity Development Services needed for getting outputs of research used.   The focus of Capacity Development in this case is to improve stakeholder participation in Research and Development and to empower users of research outputs (direct and indirect users) to acquire knowledge that they need to innovate in a sustainable way.  Direct users include farmers, processors, and traders; together with policy bodies, financial services and private sector operators that affect the economics of technology uptake.  Indirect users are those who articulate the demand for information on behalf of poor people and those who repackage information to meet the demand (e.g. extension and infomediaries). The purpose for the database is to assist individuals and organizations to identify providers of such Capacity Development services.
