THE MINISTERIAL MEETING FOR HIGH EDUCATION IN AFRICA

The Ministerial Meeting for High Education in Africa is scheduled to take place on the 27th -31st October, 2008 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Lusaka, Zambia.

Ministerial Meeting Conference Details

  1. Dates and Venue: Mulungushi International Conference Center, 27-31 October, 2008, Lusaka, Zambia.
  2. Accommodation in three hotels: Intercontinental, Pamodzi and Holiday Inn in Lusaka at average cost of US$130 per person (Bed and Breakfast). Other details are available on the registration form at Register online (Ministerial meeting)
  3. Participants to pay US$50 for registration and US$48 per day for conference package (includes teas, water & lunch; dinner is not included).
  4. Parallel sessions focusing on thematic issues will be held 27-28 October, 2008. Conveners to pay for Hall hire (US$200) and participation of delegates (US$48 per person per day). Conference organizers to provide LCD projectors and Public Address systems.   5. Exhibition pavilions have been arranged at US$600 per stand (approx. 6x6m) for duration of the meeting. Smaller stands are also available (see conference website).
  6. Ministerial platform meetings will be held 29-31 October, 2008 consisting of plenary sessions and roundtable discussions.
  7. It is also possible to arrange breakfast meetings and other special meetings: please contact Prof. Adipala Ekwamu.
  8. Visa (for those that require) can be obtained at the Zambian Embassies and at Lusaka International Airport on arrival at approximately US$50 (Subject to currency fluctuation).
  9. Delegates may request for airport pick-up by the Hotels (average cost of US$20).
  10. It is mandatory to have Cholera and Yellow Fever vaccinations for entry
  11. The organizers expect about 300 delegates including ministers, senior policy makers, development partners, over 50 vice-chancellors, representatives from sub-regional and regional organisations in Africa and others.
